Lavonia Martin Artists’ Statement: Art has been my essential method of communication, exploration, and
expression since I was a child. My love for visual art has expanded
to include exploration of media and process. I use the interaction
of bold marks, shapes, color and light to create life as I see it,
amplified, emotive, and in the moment. Generally, my images are duelist
in nature; they will have a melancholy element and an element of
beauty.
